Plot summary
Elroy Fletcher runs the Be Kind Rewind VHS rental store in Passaic, New Jersey, in a condemned building that officials have ordered upgraded or demolished. He leaves town on a trip, and before departing he warns his employee Mike to keep Jerry, Mike's conspiracy-minded friend, away from the store. Jerry believes a power plant's energy is melting his brain and tries to sabotage an electrical substation, where a shock leaves him magnetized. He enters the store the next day and wipes every tape. When Fletcher's acquaintance Miss Falewicz asks to rent Ghostbusters, Mike proposes that he and Jerry recreate the film with cheap effects, playing the parts themselves.
