Plot summary
Mustafa and Salwa come from two Palestinian villages 200 meters apart, on opposite sides of the separation wall. The distance puts pressure on an otherwise happy marriage, and the couple works to keep it going. Every night Mustafa stands on his balcony and flashes a light to his children on the other side, and they signal back. Then a call comes that his son has been in an accident. Mustafa goes to the checkpoint, waits in a long line, and is refused entry because of a problem with his fingerprints. With no legal way through, he hires a smuggler, and other travelers heading for the crossing join the journey.
