Plot summary
Ludwig Wittgenstein grows up in a well-off Vienna household as a precocious child thought to be a prodigy. Educated in Vienna and Manchester, he settles at Cambridge as a philosopher, where he knows Bertrand Russell and John Maynard Keynes. His work deals with logic, mathematics and language, and with what philosophy can say about them. He dislikes philosophy as a subject and spends his life trying to shed the privilege he was raised in by living more simply, a mission that goes largely without success. His homosexuality is part of his story. He narrates his own life and comments on it, and the sketches are staged against a black backdrop as if in a theater.
