Plot summary
A bag of severed hands is found in the Houston sewer system, and the palms are tattooed with numbers. The hands belong to girls of different ages. State profiler Audrey Macleah is brought in to work the case. Captain Swaggert sends her to a nearby psychiatric hospital, where a doctor has contacted the police about a patient of his. That patient is Jordan Thomas, who has been in foster care and institutions since he was four.
