Plot summary
Germain Cazeneuve has left the police force and now teaches prisoners how to build a life outside. He vouches for Gino Strabliggi, a printer serving twelve years for bank robbery, and Gino wins parole two years early, resolved to go straight. Cazeneuve and his family befriend Gino and his wife Sophie, who has waited ten years for his release. Gino takes steady work at a printing shop and meets Lucie, a bank employee. When he goes to the station for his parole check, Inspector Goitreau, the officer who first arrested him, spots him.
