Thesis (1996) on Netflix

Plot summary

Ángela studies at a university in Madrid, where she is preparing a thesis on the depiction of violence in audiovisual media. She asks Professor Figueroa, who supervises the project, for the most violent films the school library holds, and she approaches Chema, another student, who collects violent and pornographic videos. She retrieves a tape from the school's audiovisual archives and watches it with Chema; it shows a woman being tortured and killed. Chema says the woman is Vanessa, a student at their university who disappeared two years earlier. A younger professor, Castro, takes over as the supervisor of her thesis project.
