Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010)

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.

  • Bryce Dallas Howard replaced Rachelle Lefevre as the vampire Victoria in late July 2009, a change Summit attributed to scheduling conflicts; Lefevre said she was "stunned" and "greatly saddened". Howard had earlier turned the role down for Twilight as "too small of a part".
  • For one scene with Jacob and Bella, Taylor Lautner played the wolf himself in a gray suit, reportedly so his skin tone would not bounce back onto Kristen Stewart and cause lighting issues, and the wolf was later edited onto him with visual effects.
  • In January 2010 an early draft of the script leaked on the Internet; it was presumed to be star Jackson Rathbone's copy because his name was watermarked across every page.
  • Actors auditioning for the film's roles were not given a script to work from; they read exact transcripts from the book instead, with Kirsten Prout recalling that audition sides were pages of Twilight and its interspersed lines.
  • Eclipse set a record for the biggest midnight opening in the United States and Canada, grossing $30.1 million in more than 4,000 theaters, beating The Twilight Saga: New Moon; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 broke it in 2011 with $43.5 million.
