Plot summary
Chris Hamish is a haunted lawman who has never made a success of anything, and his own wife holds him in contempt. He is given the job of riding into Mexico to bring the gunfighter Bob Kallen back to stand trial. Kallen is popular where he lives, confident and decent at heart. Hamish takes him into custody and the two men set out together on the ride back. The sheriff treats the arrest as his own chance at redemption. The story was first told in a 1952 episode of the radio series Gunsmoke. The film was partly shot in Wildwood Regional Park in Thousand Oaks, California.
