Plot summary
Jude, Pete, Paulie, Marc and Luke are graduate students sharing a house in Iowa. Marc paints, Pete studies law, Paulie social work, Jude psychology and Luke political science. For a year the five have held a Sunday dinner, inviting a friend over for open-minded talk. On a dark and stormy night Pete, whose car broke down, comes home with the truck driver who helped him, Zack, instead of the friend he meant to bring. Invited to stay, Zack proves to be a neo-Nazi who denies the Holocaust, is racist and xenophobic, and praises Adolf Hitler. A tense argument follows at the table, where Marc is Jewish and Luke is black.
