Plot summary

Tomoe Enjou is set upon by bullies from his former school until Shiki Ryougi intervenes. He asks her to let him stay with her and confesses that he killed someone; she agrees, telling him only that she is the same as him. For a month he lives at her place, waiting for the crime to be reported, but no report comes, and the victims he names turn up alive and unharmed. Tomoe notices that a stranger in a red coat and hat follows Shiki. After seeing his mother alive, he brings Shiki to the Ogawa apartment complex, a circular building with a single central elevator. Touko Aozaki has Mikiya Kokutou look into a burglar's account of a murdered couple who later answered their door.
