Plot summary
Graham Harris is a former mountain climber, and a fall five years ago left him with a lame leg and a fear of heights. The same accident gave him a psychic ability: he sees murders as they happen. Connie Weaver is a police detective, his fiancee, and she is unarmed. One snowy night, while Graham works late in an office at the top of a Manhattan skyscraper, a killer traps the two of them there.

- To film The Face of Fear, Pam Dawber was suspended from ropes herself. She had expected stunt doubles to handle most of the rappelling scenes, but found the cast had to do many of their own stunts.
- Lee Horsley's character Graham Harris had a phobia of heights, which Horsley himself did not share, so he used his own claustrophobia to summon the emotions the role needed.
- Pam Dawber picked The Face of Fear because it was unlike the parts she was usually offered at the time, which she summed up as "the nice girl or the mom".
