Plot summary
Michael Carlin teaches at a school where Carolyn Warmus, a much younger colleague, also works. The two begin an affair, which Michael, a married man, keeps from his wife. When his wife is killed, Detective Pollina and the police look at Michael first, because the account he gives of his movements at the time does not match, and the evidence gives them no other suspect.
