Plot summary
Dirk Longstreet teaches at a university and keeps to the name he took for himself. Ten years earlier he fought as Dirk Lincoln and was the Eastern Seaboard Champion of The Circuit, a fighting society that operates outside the law, where money changes hands and men are killed. His brother Jeremy enrolls in the society to make money. Dirk must choose between leaving Jeremy to his own mistakes and going back into the world he walked away from. The Circuit now has a new champion, Kwan, and a new owner, Vixton, and Dirk works his way back into the pit fights.
