Plot summary
Hollywood screenwriters talk about their profession. Dozens of them appear, mixing war stories with lessons about working in the movie business. They analyze the triumphs of their careers and recall the failures, and they explain how writers build the skills that a long career in a fiercely competitive business requires. They also recount the stories behind screenplays that rank among the greatest ever written and describe their adventures with the luminaries they met. A book of the same name from HarperCollins was produced alongside the documentary.
