Plot summary
Jack O'Neill left the military a year ago, after leading an expedition through the stargate, a portal to other galaxies. Aliens emerge from the gate, kill the soldiers on guard and carry one of them off, so Gen. Hammond calls O'Neill back to duty. O'Neill admits he defied the order to destroy Abydos, and that Dr. Daniel Jackson, believed dead on that mission, is alive there. Joined by Kawalsky, Ferretti and Capt. Samantha Carter, an astrophysicist, he returns to Abydos, where Jackson has married Sha're and Skaara has grown up.
