Plot summary
Jake Graham, a university student, cannot shake the feeling that he is being followed. Creepy text messages, photographs and a map marking the locations of earlier smiley face murders reach him, and he begins to investigate them. Keren, his girlfriend, worries that he has gone off his psychiatric medication, particularly once he grows jealous of her talking to Rob, her ex-boyfriend. Jake tells his friend Adam about the messages, and Adam suggests Rob may be behind them out of jealousy. Two unrelated victims are killed by a hooded figure in a white van, and smiley face graffiti near the body is the only clue linking the deaths.
