Plot summary
The holiday home that a young couple, Anna and Adam, have rented on a sunny Italian island has a garden pool, and the pool is broken. The island faces a water shortage, and the couple do not know about it when they ask for someone to come and repair the pool. A worker takes the job, and while the work goes on he is a constant presence at the property. The stranger's nearness invades the sense of safety Anna and Adam had found in the house and sets off a chain of events. Anna and Adam begin to act on instinct rather than reason.
