Plot summary
An ancient stone said to carry magic powers passes into the hands of thieves. Davey Joe is paid to take it from an old Ranger's castle, but he keeps it, expecting good luck and a long life, and slides it under the bed of his mute brother Caine. Alex takes Caine along on a field trip to Sher Mountain, and the stone comes with them. The forest ranger there makes Caine a Junior Ranger; his pupils shine an unsettling blue. In the city, Conrad and Sole force their way into Muriel and Davey Joe's apartment, then drive toward the Sher Mountain Wilderness Park with Billy in a car behind.

- Because the part of the ranger called for a giant-sized actor and the character ages ten years, British boxer Joe Bugner was cast, having acted in Europe and impressed both Avalon and director Vince Martin.
