Plot summary
Yves Saint Laurent spends the years between 1967 and 1976 at the peak of his career, his fashion house expanding internationally while his nights belong to Paris nightclubs and the circles of the wealthy and avant-garde. He forms a lasting relationship with his business manager, Pierre Bergé, alongside a nightlife of champagne, pot and drugs. At a club he approaches the model Betty Catroux about working for his house; she is under contract with Chanel and refuses him, and he keeps asking. The two dance and drink together, and she is soon modeling his new designs in his studio. Jacques de Bascher also approaches him that season, making his romantic intentions plain.
