Will Jordan

Will Jordan was an American actor and comedian known for looking like Ed Sullivan and for impersonating the television host. Born in the Bronx and raised in Queens, he trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. His act centered on Sullivan, and he created a Toast of the Town catchphrase that later impersonators borrowed. He played Sullivan in Bye Bye Birdie on Broadway in 1960 and 1961, returning for a 2009 and 2010 revival. His screen roles were mostly Sullivan in films about characters appearing on Sullivan's variety show, among them I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978), The Buddy Holly Story (1978) and The Doors (1991). In 1983 he appeared as Sullivan in the video for Billy Joel's Tell Her About It. He also imitated Bing Crosby, Groucho Marx and Jack Benny, and with Sandy Baron he recorded The Presidential Press Conference, a minor hit in 1961.
