Biography
Tuc Watkins is an American actor who built a long career across soap operas, prime-time comedy and Broadway. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, and a communications graduate of Indiana University Bloomington, he began with guest spots on shows such as Baywatch and Melrose Place before playing the con man David Vickers on One Life to Live from 1994 to 1996, a part he returned to over the years; Soap Opera Digest named his David the most entertaining male character of 2008. His film debut came in I Think I Do (1997), followed by The Mummy (1999). On television he played Bob Hunter on Desperate Housewives and Pistol Pete on Parks and Recreation, and in 2017 he joined the Broadway revival of The Boys in the Band, which won the 2019 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play; he reprised his role in the 2020 Netflix version. He later starred on Uncoupled as Colin McKenna.

Watkins made his Broadway debut in 2017 in a revival of The Boys in the Band, staged to mark the 50th anniversary of the play's premiere.

Watkins played Burns, a tomb raider who wore glasses and was near-sighted, in The Mummy. That 1999 film was his first major part in a big studio production.
Behind the award
Soap Opera Digest gave Watkins's David the title of Most Entertaining Male Character of 2008, saying his harebrained schemes and side-splitting performances brought amusement that was always sad to see end.
