Tom Kempinski
Biography
Tom Kempinski was a British actor and playwright whose 1980 play Duet for One became a major success in London and was frequently revived. Born in Hendon in 1938, he trained at RADA before taking his first screen role in The Damned (1962). He then moved into stage acting with Lionel Bart's Blitz! and went on to appear in other stage and film roles, notably Charles Wood's anti-war play Dingo and Stephen Frears's Gumshoe (1971). He also wrote the screenplay when Duet for One was made into a film. His television work included minor appearances on numerous British shows, among them Dixon of Dock Green and Z-Cars. He died in 2023.
