Tito Jackson

Tito Jackson was an American musician and singer best known as a founding member of the Jackson 5, the family group he formed with his brothers while growing up in Gary, Indiana. Signed to Motown Records in 1968, the group scored a run of number one singles, though the label would not let Jackson play guitar on its sessions; his guitar work only appeared after the brothers moved to CBS Records in 1976. He and Jackie Jackson remained the most consistently present members as the group became the Jacksons, and he wrote songs with his brothers. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with them in 1997 and nominated for three Grammy Awards, he moved into session work and record production after the Victory Tour, reunited with his brothers at Madison Square Garden in 2001, and began a solo blues career in 2003. Later recordings included Tito Time and Under Your Spell.
