Biography

Tim Chiou is an American actor born in Iowa City. He went to the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in English, and joined the campus Asian American theater group LCC. With Randall Park, he later helped start the comedy group The Propaganders. His most prominent screen role is the venture capitalist Ed Chen on the fourth season of HBO's Silicon Valley, a character who spoofs the area's bro culture. On television he played A.J. on IZombie and also appeared on Hannah Montana, Chuck, Just Jordan, House M.D., The Cape and NCIS. His film credits include Crossing Over, Seventh Moon and The People I've Slept With (2009). He won a Best Actor award at the 2013 NBC Short Cuts Film Festival for Made in Chinatown, and his stage work includes Year Zero and The North China Lover.
