Biography

Terry Scully was a British actor who worked in theater and television and left school at fourteen, working as a bus conductor before an audition with the Leigh Company Players led to leading roles with that company. That in turn brought him to the Bristol Old Vic Drama School, which helped secure a grant so he could study, then to work with companies in Nottingham and Birmingham. After making his name on stage, he became better known from the 1960s for television, playing King Henry VI in the BBC's An Age of Kings in 1960. He was Horatio Nelson in the 1968 series Triton and Bicket in the BBC's 1967 adaptation of The Forsyte Saga, and he appeared in the film Goodbye Gemini (1970). He became known for cult series, among them the Doctor Who serial The Seeds of Death, an episode of Blake's 7 and four episodes of Survivors as Vic Thatcher. He died in 2001.
