Steven DeFord Hauck was born on September 10, 1959 to Donald and Margery Hauck, both divinity students at Princeton Theological Seminary. The family moved to Texas, where Steve acquired three younger siblings and a passion for the arts-literature, music, and particularly the theater. After years of study and acting training he moved to New York City, and made his Broadway debut opposite dramatic powerhouse Tovah Feldshuh in "Irena's Vow" in 2009. Off-Broadway highlights include Moises Kaufman's brilliant and original Tennessee Williams adaptation, "One Arm"; "King Lear," starring Paul Sorvino: and "Spy Garbo," which the New York Times said "generates poignancy, thanks to Mr. Hauck's soulful performance." Steve appeared on several of the New York soaps, including "All My Children" as a smitten suitor of Susan Lucci's temptress Erica Kane. He has made guest appearances on numerous television shows, including Tina Fey's "30 Rock" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," "Elementary," "Boardwalk Empire," "The Blacklist," and Baz Lurhmann's new Netflix series "The Get Down.
