Stephen Guarino
Biography
Stephen Guarino is an American actor and comedian who studied at Florida State University and The Public Theater's Shakespeare program and came up through improvisational and sketch comedy. Born in DeLand, Florida, and originally from Orlando, he was a member of SAK Comedy Lab and appeared in Off-Broadway productions before Rosie O'Donnell discovered him and he became a prominent performer on Logo TV's The Big Gay Sketch Show from 2007 to 2010. He is known for playing Sully Patterson on the Showtime series I'm Dying Up Here, Derrick on ABC's Happy Endings and later NBC's Marry Me, and Connor on ABC's Dr. Ken. His film work includes Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009), I Hate Valentine's Day (2009), and BearCity (2010), for which he received Outfest's Best Actor award. He earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for EastSiders in 2018, and he directed the CBS Diversity Sketch Comedy Showcase.
