Biography

Stan Jones was a Canadian-born actor whose career spanned radio, film, and television. Born in Toronto, Ontario, he appeared in eight films and more than thirty television series productions. Much of his output was voice work; he delivered a Peter Lorre imitation with a French accent for the radio serial Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar. He narrated Little Shop of Horrors (1986). His best-known voice role was Lex Luthor in Challenge of the Superfriends; the Superman villain led The Legion of Doom in that Hanna-Barbera series. He also voiced Scourge, Lord Zarak, and Weirdwolf on The Transformers, and Kingpin and Doctor Octopus on the 1981 Spider-Man animated series. In Heathcliff he supplied the voices of the Milkman, Wordsworth, and Riff Raff, and he provided the voice of McAlister in The Pebble and the Penguin (1995). One of his few on-screen parts was a teller in an episode of Beverly Hills, 90210.
