Sanoe Lake

Sanoe Lake is an American surfer, model, and actress. Born on Kauaʻi, she was the face chosen to launch Roxy at 16, and those early campaigns are credited with expanding the image of female surfers beyond competitive sport. She was among the first female surfers to cross into mainstream media and became known as the Princess of Surf. Her modeling work included television commercials for Target, Gap, and MTV, and she was featured in magazines such as Elle, Vogue, and Sports Illustrated. From 2003 to 2013 she was contracted to surf for Billabong Girls as a face of the brand. In 2005 she wrote Surfer Girl, A Guide To The Surfing Life. As an actress, she is best known for Blue Crush (2002), which brought her an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best On Screen Team with Kate Bosworth and Michelle Rodriguez. She also played Rain in Rolling, Gina in Creature of Darkness (2009), and a lead in Half-Life.
