Sandra Milo

Sandra Milo was a Tunisian-born leading lady of Italian and French films, who played bored patricians, scheming mistresses and other enticing women in scores of comedies, costume dramas and melodramas. A native of Tunis, she made her film debut at 20 under the name Sandra Milo, opposite Alberto Sordi in The Bachelor, then spent a decade in saucy comedies and steamy melodramas. Her credits included Nero's Mistress, General Della Rovere (1959) and the period romp The Green Mare. She appeared to fine advantage in two films Fellini directed, 8½ and Juliet of the Spirits (1965), and played opposite leading men such as Vittorio Gassman, Marcello Mastroianni and Jean-Paul Belmondo. After leaving films in 1968 she returned roughly ten years later, sometimes in severe-looking, often blonde parts. She died in 2024.
