Roy Horan
Biography
Roy Horan was an American actor who broke into Hong Kong film in 1975 after training in taekwondo under the Korean master Jang Lee Hwang. Born in the United States, he moved to Hong Kong after graduating from the University of Rhode Island. He became best known to kung fu fans as the Russian Assassin in Snake in the Eagle's Shadow (1978) and as Lewis, a wealthy fighter, in Game of Death II (1981), and he took an early role in Snuff Bottle Connection (1977). From 1978 to 1989 he handled distribution, sales and international production for Seasonal Film Corporation, and he directed an instructional video series that included The Art of High Impact Kicking (1980). His last acting part came in No Retreat, No Surrender 2: Raging Thunder (1987), which he also helped write and produce. He later taught filmmaking at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and retired in 2011. He died in 2021.
