Rosanna Carter
Biography
Rosanna Carter was a Bahamian American actress of television, stage, and film. Born in Nassau, she grew up in Pompano Beach, Florida, and was one of the Lafayette Players at the New Lafayette Theater during the Harlem Renaissance. In the 1970s she joined the Negro Ensemble Company, and her Broadway work included My Sister, My Sister (1973), Inacent Black (1980), and The American Clock (1980). She won an AUDELCO award in 1977 for supporting actress work in the play Unfinished Women. Her films included Night of the Juggler (1980) and The Brother from Another Planet (1984). On television she had a 1974 guest spot on Good Times, appeared in Tales from the Darkside in 1985 and The Cosby Show in 1992, and earned an Emmy nomination for I'll Fly Away in 1993. Her final guest appearance was on Law & Order in 1997.
