Rosalyn Coleman

Rosalyn Coleman is an actress and director whose stage work includes Broadway appearances in Seven Guitars, The Piano Lesson, Mule Bone and The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant. She earned a BFA from Howard University and an MFA from Yale Drama School, where she received the Carol Dye Award for acting. Off-Broadway she appeared in world premieres of Whose Family Values and Sarah Schulman's Carson McCullers (Historically Inaccurate), and she was nominated for a 2006 Barrymore Award for Intimate Apparel at the Philadelphia Theater Company. Her film directing credits include the award-winning short Allergic to Nuts (2003), Driving Fish (2002) and Drawing Angel (2007), and she directed the re-enactment portion of the documentary Black Sorority Project: The Exodus (2006). As an actress she appeared in Brown Sugar (2002), Vanilla Sky (2001) and Music of the Heart (1999), with recurring television roles on OZ, Kidnapped and DC.
