Robin Harris
Biography
Robin Harris was an American comedian and actor whose best known material was a recurring comic sketch, Bé-bé's Kids. Born in Chicago, he grew up in Los Angeles after his family moved there in 1961. He first took the stage in Hollywood at The Comedy Store in 1980, and during the mid-1980s he hosted at the Comedy Act Theater, where his old school humor drew a wider following. I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, in which he played a bartender, marked his screen debut. He went on to appear in Do the Right Thing (1989) and Harlem Nights (1989), then played Kid's father in House Party (1990) and an emcee at a jazz club in Mo' Better Blues (1990). He was nominated posthumously for an Independent Spirit Award for his supporting work in House Party. His Bé-bé's Kids routines were later turned into the animated film Bebe's Kids (1992).
