Renate Ewert
Biography
Renate Ewert was a German actress whose film work spanned the 1950s and into the following decade. She was born in Königsberg and relocated to Hamburg during the Second World War. Hoping to become an actress, she applied to the Hamburger Kammerspiele but the application was turned down. She then did dubbing jobs for foreign movies. Her first screen role came after that: she appeared in 08/15 at Home (1955), the third part of that series. More films followed, and she was usually cast as the seductive and mysterious girl, a kind of role she became associated with. She was eager to play dramatic parts, but those opportunities did not come. By the middle of the 1960s she was receiving fewer offers. She died in 1966.
