Paul Reiser
Biography
Paul Reiser is an American actor, comedian, and writer who began in stand-up comedy in New York clubs before his breakout film role as Modell in Diner (1982). He went on to play Detective Jeffrey Friedman in Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), and Carter Burke in Aliens (1986). On television, he starred in My Two Dads from 1987 to 1990 and co-created and starred as Paul Buchman in Mad About You from 1992 to 1999, which earned him nominations for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, an American Comedy Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He also co-composed the show's theme song. Later credits include Whiplash (2014), Stranger Things as Dr. Sam Owens, and The Kominsky Method as Martin. Comedy Central ranked him 77th on its 2004 list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time. He wrote and starred in The Paul Reiser Show and co-created There's... Johnny!

Reiser's production company is called Nuance Productions, a name inspired by a line his character speaks in the film Diner, where the character explains his discomfort with the word "nuance".

Reiser and singer Julia Fordham made the album Unusual Suspects in 2010, which included "UnSung Hero", dedicated to American soldiers serving in Afghanistan, and then toured acoustically.
