Pamela Tiffin
Biography
Pamela Tiffin was an American actress whose career began with modeling at age twelve. Born in Oklahoma City and raised in Oak Lawn, Illinois, she studied dance as a child before moving to New York. After a screen test at Paramount, she was cast in Summer and Smoke (1961) and earned a Golden Globe nomination for it. She received another Golden Globe nomination for One, Two, Three (1961), directed by Billy Wilder. Other credits included State Fair (1962), Come Fly with Me (1963), The Pleasure Seekers (1964), The Hallelujah Trail (1965) with Burt Lancaster, and Harper (1966) with Paul Newman. She later worked in Italian cinema, notably in The Almost Perfect Crime (1966), and won a Theatre World Award for Dinner at Eight on Broadway. She retired from film in 1974, returned for the television film Rose in 1986, and died in 2020.

Early training
Tiffin took tap and interpretive dance lessons at the Gertrude Morgan School of Dancing in Chicago, starting when she was four and continuing until she was eleven.
Big break
Lloyd Fromm, a fashion photographer, urged Tiffin to meet Boris Kaplan, who worked as a casting director at Paramount Pictures. That meeting set her acting career in motion.
