Nicole Jaffe
Biography
Nicole Jaffe is a Canadian actress from Montreal, known as the original voice of Velma Dinkley in the Scooby-Doo cartoons. Billed as Nicole Jaffe, she appeared in Disney's The Love Bug (1968) and The Trouble with Girls (1969), and played Patty in a stage version of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Hanna-Barbera recording director Gordon Hunt spotted her there and cast her as Velma on Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! She voiced Velma again for The New Scooby-Doo Movies from 1972 to 1974. She retired from acting in 1973 and moved into talent representation, forming Rifkin/David with Arnold Rifkin in 1982; it merged into Triad Artists, which William Morris bought in 1992. She was a senior agent and vice president at William Morris and William Morris Endeavor until 2013. She returned to Scooby-Doo from 1977 through 2003, ending with Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire (2003) and Scooby-Doo and the Monster of Mexico (2003).

A role that slipped away
In 1970, during Scooby-Doo's second season, Indira Stefanianna left her role as Daphne. Jaffe then suggested her roommate Heather North as a replacement, and North went on to voice Daphne in Scooby productions for three more decades.
A change of course
Jaffe left acting in 1973 and moved into talent representation. As Nicole David, she started the Rifkin/David agency with Arnold Rifkin in 1982, and two years later it merged into Triad Artists.
