Minissha Lamba
Biography
Minissha Lamba is an Indian actress whose entry into films came about unexpectedly. Born in 1985 into a family based in New Delhi, she had planned on an academic career and journalism, with modeling on the side, and was picked to model for Cadbury. While auditioning for a Cadbury commercial in Delhi, she was approached by the director Shoojit Sircar, who signed her for Yahaan (2005). That film launched her career, and she later altered the spelling of her first name to Minissha and settled in Mumbai, going on to appear in more than a dozen features. These include Corporate, Heyy Babyy, Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) and Well Done Abba. Before that she attended schools in Chennai and in Srinagar, and in 2004 she earned an English degree with honors from Miranda House, a Delhi University affiliate.
