Mary Elizabeth Boylan

Mary was born near Cleveland, Ohio to a Hungarian Mother and Irish Father. Her neighbors probably still remember her inviting them to staged dances and lip syncing acts when she was little, all performed in the living room with her friends. Mary began her dance training at age 2, performing for the first time at age 3. She later went on to solo in a lyrical jazz company, and train with the Cleveland Ballet. After graduating Cum Laude with Honors from The Ohio State University, Mary lived in Miami, modeling and bartending to pay for her acting classes. She did 3 years of improv when she first moved to Los Angeles at The Next Stage Theatre, while studying at Playhouse West, the Australian School of Dramatic Arts (AIDA) in Hollywood, and the famed Upright Citizens' Brigade. Mary's breakout role was in the award-winning film, Parched where she played the female lead as a broken woman in the wild west, who takes matters into her own hands. The film won at the Los Angeles based Action on Film International Festival. Mary when on from there to star in several independent films. She then decided to tell her own story in the short film Getting Lemons. She wrote, produced and stars in dramedy, her first time on the other side of the camera. Mary won Best Actress, was nominated for Best Female Filmmaker, and the film was nominated for Best Musical, was an Official Selection at a total of 5 major film fests, and screened for the Oscars Short Film Competition. Most recently Boylan worked on the feature film Juveniles, alongside Stephen Moyer, Kevin Alejandro, Beau Knapp, Martin Henderson, and Kathleen Rose Perkins. Her most recent feature, Love Is All You Need? Has screened at Cannes, along with being the Official Selection of 9 other major film fests, and winning several awards.
