Marta Gastini

Marta Gastini is an Italian actress whose screen work includes the television series Borgia, where she played Giulia Farnese, and the film The Rite. Born in Alessandria, she made her television debut in January 2009 with the miniseries Il Bene e il Male and then took a lead part in L'uomo che cavalcava nel buio, a prime-time miniseries. She entered cinema with Me and Marilyn (2009), appearing as Martha under Leonardo Pieraccioni. In 2010 she acted with Anthony Hopkins and Colin O'Donoghue in The Rite (2011), and the following year played Giulia Farnese in Borgia. She later starred as Marie in Autumn Lights (2016), an American-Icelandic film. Her recognition includes a Young Certainty of the Italian Cinema award in 2011, a Silver Ribbon nomination for best supporting actress for The Rite, and a L'Oréal Paris Cinema Award nomination at the Venice Film Festival.
