Mark Roberts
Biography
Mark Roberts was an actor who worked in theater, film and television, with screen credits running to more than a hundred movies between 1938 and 1994. A Denver native, he first performed at four in a kindergarten play, spent part of his childhood in Ohio and Missouri, and majored in English at the University of Arizona. A Columbia Pictures screen test won him a long-term contract, and he broke into movies with an uncredited bit part in Brother Rat in 1938. After three films credited as Robert Scott, he took the lead in Black Arrow, a Columbia serial from 1944, and he acted as Mark Roberts once his Army Air Forces service ended. He also had an uncredited role in It's a Wonderful Life. He played Dunbar in Stalag 17 on Broadway in 1951, was reporter Hildy Johnson in The Front Page, and portrayed Bob Brannagan in The Brothers Brannagan. He died in 2006.
