Louw Venter

Louw Venter, born in Cape Town, is a South African actor and filmmaker whose writing and directing include The Tree, Konfetti and Swartwater. He debuted in 2001 in Final Solution as a paramilitary member, then played Marco in Jean-Pierre Roux's Italian film The Piano Player (2002). In 2003 he acted in Adrenaline and Citizen Verdict. He wrote the praised, award-winning Konfetti, which Zaheer Goodman-Bhyat directed, and his television writing includes Rugby Motors and Vinkel & Koljander. His directing debut came with the 2015 short Leemte, and in 2016 he drew notice for Kalushi: The Story of Solomon Mahlangu, playing Van Heerden. He formed a comedy duo with Rob van Vuuren, playing Corne and Twakkie in videos and The Most Amazing Show. His first feature as director and writer, Stam, won Best South African Film at the 2020 Durban International Film Festival.
