Biography

Linda Haynes was an American actress whose screen career ran through the 1970s and into the early 1980s. She was born in Miami, Florida, and grew up in Miami and Caracas, Venezuela. She began with a role in Latitude Zero (1969), appearing with Cesar Romero, Richard Jaeckel, and Joseph Cotten. Her later films included Coffy (1973), The Drowning Pool (1975), Rolling Thunder (1977), Brubaker (1980), and The Nickel Ride (1974). She was best known for Coffy, The Nickel Ride, and Rolling Thunder. A life member of The Actors Studio, she also portrayed Bonnie Parker in a 1974 episode of Paper Moon. Haynes left acting in 1980 and became a legal secretary. In 1995, director Quentin Tarantino and author Tom Graves found her, and in 2015 Graves published a profile of her career. She died in 2023.
