Kitty Winn

Kitty Winn is a retired American actress whose career took in stage, film, and television. Born in Washington, D.C., she trained at Centenary Junior College and Boston University, earning her degree in 1966, and acted in student productions and summer stock before spending four years with the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. She left that company in 1970 to star opposite Al Pacino in The Panic in Needle Park (1971), winning the best actress award at Cannes in 1971. Her other films include The Exorcist (1973) and They Might Be Giants (1971), and she played Sharon Spencer in the Exorcist series. Most of her career, however, was in the theater. In 1983 she played Cordelia in The Tragedy of King Lear, a KCET production, then retired, returning in 2011 to play the lead in The Last Romance, staged at the San Jose Repertory Theatre, earning a best actress nomination from the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle.
