Kimberly Hebert Gregory

Kimberly Hébert Gregory was an American actress who came to screen work from a career in the theater. Born in Houston, she graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1994 and moved to Chicago to attend DePaul's Theatre School, appearing in Chicago productions through the late 1990s; her performance in Shakin' the Mess Outta Misery brought a Black Theatre Alliance Award and a 1998 Jeff Award nomination. Her breakthrough came in 2016, as Dr. Belinda Brown in the HBO comedy Vice Principals. On film she appeared in Spike Lee's Red Hook Summer (2012) and the romantic drama Five Feet Apart (2019), and she voiced Nicole Williams in the animated series Craig of the Creek and its prequel Craig Before the Creek (2023). Her stage roles included the Public's production of The Brother/Sister Plays, and she was nominated for a 2012 Drama Desk Award for By The Way, Meet Vera Stark. In 2017 she founded the Black Rebirth Collective.
