Jeanine Mason
Biography
Jeanine Mason is an American actress and dancer who turned to acting after winning the fifth season of Fox's So You Think You Can Dance in 2009, becoming the show's youngest winner and the first Cuban-American to win it. She was born in Miami and grew up in Pinecrest, where she trained in ballet, flamenco, and other dance styles. She is best known for playing Liz Ortecho on the CW drama Roswell, New Mexico, and she also played Dr. Sam Bello in a recurring role on Grey's Anatomy. Her television work includes Bunheads and Of Kings and Prophets, while her film appearances include Delirium (2014), the thriller Default with David Oyelowo, and The Archer with Bailey Noble. On stage, she appeared in a 2017 revival of Zoot Suit presented by Center Theatre Group and directed by Luis Valdez.

A first
Mason was 18 when she took part in the fifth season of So You Think You Can Dance. She won, making her the competition's youngest champion, ahead of Brandon Bryant, Kayla Radomski and Evan Kasprzak.
First role
After she finished So You Think You Can Dance, Mason turned to acting. Her first on-screen role was in the Halloween episode of the Nickelodeon show Big Time Rush.
Early training
Mason started dance training when she was three, learning ballet and flamenco, and later added jazz, acrobatics, hip-hop, modern and contemporary styles.
Beyond film
Mason's last stage appearance was in 2017, when Center Theatre Group revived Zoot Suit. The playwright Luis Valdez directed it, and Demián Bichir appeared opposite her.

Mason performed her So You Think You Can Dance contemporary piece "If It Kills Me", choreographed by Travis Wall, with Jason Glover at the 2009 Dizzy Feet Gala at the Kodak Theatre.
