James Wlcek
Biography
James Wlcek is an American actor who comes from New York City. He started appearing on screen in 1987 with Tales from the Darkside (1983), then played a role on Ryan's Hope (1975) between 1987 and 1989. His first notable movie part came in Steel Magnolias (1989). During the 1990s he did guest spots on various soap operas and series. His major break arrived in 1997, when he joined Walker, Texas Ranger (1993) in a recurring part as Trent Malloy, a well-mannered martial arts teacher who assisted Walker and the Rangers. Malloy often worked with Carlos Sandoval, his Dallas Police friend played by Marco Sanchez. That role led to the spin-off Sons of Thunder (1999), created by Chuck Norris, which centered on the two characters until CBS dropped it. Wlcek later appeared on JAG (1995) and The Division (2001), as well as the television movies Hydra (2009) and Love's Christmas Journey (2011).
