James Carpinello

Biography

James Carpinello is an American actor who began in theater, playing Tony Manero in the 1999 Broadway musical Saturday Night Fever. He was later cast as Link Larkin in Hairspray on Broadway, but he left that production for a film part and Matthew Morrison took over the role. In 2009 he took the part of Stacee Jaxx, a rocker, in Rock of Ages on Broadway, and in 2024 he performed as Orin Scrivello D.D.S. and other characters in an Off-Broadway Little Shop of Horrors. He appeared in The Punisher (2004) and also in The Great Raid (2005). He later had parts in Let's Kill Ward's Wife (2014) and in Midway (2019). On television he played Detective Anthony Burton on The Good Wife and had recurring roles on The Blacklist and Gotham. He helped create and starred in the short thriller Outside (2020) and is a co-producer for a Broadway musical based on the 1987 vampire movie The Lost Boys.
