Biography

Hank Henry was an American comedian and actor whose stage work on the Las Vegas Strip spanned decades, and he also appeared in films and on television. He began in American burlesque, where he played comic to straight man Robert Alda. His first screen role came in 1937 in the comedy short Dime a Dance, a one-shot assignment he filmed during a burlesque engagement. After moving to California, he returned to movies in 1943. He was often cast alongside Frank Sinatra, and his screen credits included The Joker Is Wild (1957) and Pal Joey (1957). Later he appeared in Pepe (1960) and Robin and the 7 Hoods (1964). Not Tonight Henry, a burlesque comedy, gave him all the leading male roles. On television, he debuted in The Thin Man and made his final appearance in 1970. Henry died in 1981.
